It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and just go with the flow – especially right now. We’ve all been there. You’re in the same clothes, the same routine, and it feels like nothing is changing. Naturally you can’t help but feel a little suffocated by this predictable lifestyle. It’s time to shake things up! Whether it’s a lifestyle, location, or career change, there are simple things you can do right now to shake things up and welcome positive energy back into your life.
Here are 5 ways to start shaking things up TODAY:
- Pinpoint What Makes You Happy
When was the last time you sat down and meditated on what TRULY makes you happy? What lifts your spirits and puts a spring in your step? It’s important to be aware of what brings you joy so you can spend your time doing those things.
For me it’s being in nature, laughing with friends and family, or reading a good book.

- Practice Saying Yes
Often, we are so busy with the repetition of everyday life that we don’t prioritize getting out of our comfort zones and doing something special. Life is all about unique experiences. When was the last time you tried something different or challenging? If it’s been a while, start saying yes to yourself and choose activities that not only make you feel good but also require you to face your understandings of life and explore your place in the Universe.
- Make a Stop Doing List
Once you start saying yes to the things that feel good, you need to practice saying no. You need a stop doing list! Identify the habits you’ve fallen into that drain your energy such as spending too much time on social media or binge watching your favorite Netflix Series and how often you indulge in these behaviors. This isn’t going to be comfortable because they may bring you joy but do, they allow you to follow your true Soul’s path and reconnect your natural spiritual abilities
Most people have entirely too much “stuff” in their lives. There are many ways to go about clearing out the clutter from your life. Clutter includes spending hours scrolling through social media, limiting beliefs, and bad lifestyle habits as well as all that junk hiding in the kitchen drawer. Look around you right now and see what’s holding you back from reaching a life of balance and harmony the LET IT GO!
- Say No to Fear
Perhaps the single most empowering thing you can do to get out of a rut is to step away from fear. You might think that you’re staying safe by living this way, but fear will stop you from growing and realizing your full potential. It makes you too afraid to try anything new and holds you back from experiencing the magical and beautiful world of possibility that surrounds You.
